Fight Back

During dinner we were watching the U.S Open 2009 quarterfinals match between Soderling and Federer. From the score it looked like the first set got over in jiffy as Federer had a lead of 6-0. We started watching the match from the second set. Soderling tried some hard shots and gave his tough fight in the second set to reach a score of 6-3. He had a rude body language whenever he lost a critical game point. Federer was in full form to win the third set with ease. Before the start of the third set, the commentator said it's going be a straight set for Federer to enter semi-finals match against Djokovic. This comment from the expert annoyed Soderling.

Soderling gathered his confidence level and bounced back in the third set. Federer could not take any hard and brilliant shots from Soderling. The match was competitive in the third set. The match went neck to neck until the tie breaker was broken by Soderling.

Soderling if wanted could have given up in the third set, but his will to fight back and to give his best was appreciable. I loved his determination and courage to stand against all odds even in the last chance.
